Our thanks and congratulations to Karen Power who undertook the Borneo Challenge on behalf of the ispca and ourselves. She's back, safe & sound thankfully. Well done Karen! It must have been pretty tough & we take our hats off to you. Karen tells us that..................... It was "definitely the experience of a lifetime & I would recommend it to anyone". It was a very busy 10 days as we spent the first 3 trekking through the jungle, then we had 2 days for our summit climb, one days bus journey & 3.5 days in the Orang Utan Sanctuary.... We were asked to construct 20 metres of boardwalk for the Organutan Sanctuary & we got 50 metres done so they were well pleased with us. If you live in Co. Mayo then 50% of monies made from sponsorships will be donated to ourselves! We are prepared to advertise for sponsors for anyone wishing to take up this challenge and of course, the holiday and experience of a lifetime.

On behalf of all our rescued animals, a BIG thank you.
Sincere thanks & congratulations to Maureen Higgins and her Sister, Eileen Cleland for successfully completing the Flora Womens Mini-Marathon and raising over 684 euro for Mayo Spca's rescued animals. Eileen travelled from the U.S.A. specially for the occasion. Well Done to both. Our animals appreciate your efforts and caring - a huge thank you from them and the Committee.
DUBLIN MARATHON RESULT Our sincere thanks to Claire McDowell of Barna, and everyone who supported her running the Dublin Marathon, she raised €355.00 euro which she sent to help our animals. We appreciate her efforts so much, especially at this time of the year when the level of animal cruelty and abandonment is so high. Six months ago Claire very kindly adopted a spaniel x from Mayo SPCA, we named him Snoopy, he's now called Mickey and keeps her on her toes!
Quiz Night! The Quiz Night raised €295, a big thank you to all who supported our quiz night.
DONATION RECEIVED Our very sincere thanks to the Trustees of the Kennel Club Charitable Trust, who in conjuction with an advisor from Pedigree and the Association of Dogs & Cats homes kindly agreed to donate 3,000 euro to MAYO SPCA after reviewing just some of the work we had done. We were all overjoyed to receive such a generous amount which will be used in the main to pay vetinerary expenses for our rescuees. However, fundraising MUST continue if we are to get through this year. The number of Cruelty cases handled has increased dramatically and the cost to treat them are very high. Result from the mini-marathon!
We have received donations from the kind people who did the Dublin Min-Marathon for MAYO SPCA and wish to give our heart felt thanks and appreciation for their efforts and support for our poor abused animals. Our very sincere thanks to the kind & most generous members of the public who made donations.
Our grateful thanks to Karen Power (who adopted Spencer the Spaniel from MAYO SPCA) for collecting the magnificent sum of 400.00 Euro & Maureen Higgins who raised another fanastic sum of 463.00 euro. Andrea Murray collected 93.00. A great big thank you to all of you.

VOLUNTEER Would you like to help? We constantly require assistance as we have a huge workload. Our rescued animals deserve a good quality of life whilst in our care. Dogs need walking twice daily. Some need nursing and TLC (tender loving care). Others are afraid of humans and need a kind person to sit with them for a while to help restore their confidence. Kennels have to be cleaned daily and animals have to be fed. Trips to the Vet when necessary have to be made. Cats/kittens always need rescuing. Again, vet trips, feeding, cleaning of catteries, litter trays etc are all part of our daily chores. Some cats/kittens are also afraid and need human companionship to restore their confidence.
Our telephones are always busy and any help you could give with answering them is always appreciated.
If you can spare even one hour per week it would be a great help to us and would be very much appreciated. Please apply for membership form: email
